Thanks to “overwhelming support” from Q100 Bert Show listeners, Jenn Hobby is jetting to New York next week to fill in for Kelly Ripa on “Live! With Regis & Kelly.”
After three days of online voting this week, Hobby was selected as one of the four Women in Radio Co-Host week who will appear next week Tuesday through Friday with Regis Philbin.
“I just got off the phone with ‘Live!’ producers,” Hobby tells Intel. “They told me what day I’m co-hosting and what celebs I’ll be helping to interview.”
Hobby will be spilling the info on air Friday morning.
Producers requested that the 5-foot 8-inch Hobby wear a “moderate, small heel” to avoid dwarfing her daytime veteran co-host.
While the live show’s free-form “host chat” would frighten many prospective co-hosts, Hobby says that part of the show doesn’t intimidate her.
“I’m a good conversationalist and a good listener,” Hobby explains. “I’m more worried about the interviews. Over the years at the Bert Show, we’ve developed this delicate dance between us. Just listening to how [boss] Bert [Weiss] breathes, I can tell when he wants to ask a question. My biggest fear is stepping on Regis Philbin’s toes on the air!”
