At a reception thrown by friends Robert and Dell Rearden at their posh Park Place home in Buckhead this week, playwright Del Shores announced that his new film, “The Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife” will be shot in Atlanta beginning in March.

Shores is best known for his 2000 cult classic film “Sordid Lives” and the 2008 follow up “Sordid Lives: The Series” which ran on Logo.

“Trailer Trash Housewife” is based on Shores’ 2003 play, “a poignant story of the hidden emotions, shame and secrecy of battered women, told with humor to balance the dark storyline.”

At the cocktail party for local Atlanta investors and fans, Shores introduced the crowd to “Sordid Lives” alum Beth Grant, who will play the central character of Willadean Winkler in the new project (pictured at right with Shores) along with actor Emerson Collins who also co-starred in both the “Sordid Lives” film and series.

Shores is also set to direct the film here.
