Sometimes, less than stellar cell service can land you in front of a Hollywood legend. Last week, Atlanta publicist Nicholas Wolaver stepped outside of RiRa Irish pub in Midtown with his bar-challenged cellular device only to come face to face with Clint Eastwood. The 80-year-old actor-director is in town shooting the baseball drama “Trouble with the Curve” with Amy Adams, Justin Timberlake and John Goodman (unlike 2011’s “J. Edgar,” Eastwood is just acting in this film, letting his old pal Robert Lorenz call the shots as director).
In an email to us, Wolaver states he followed the strict Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau protocol for greeting Tinseltown icons visiting our city, extending a hand and telling the actor, “Welcome to Atlanta, Mr. Eastwood.” Following the equally strict Screen Actors Guild guidelines for interacting with civilians, Eastwood replied, “Thank you, it’s good to be here,” shaking hands with Wolaver and patting his shoulder. Quipped Wolaver: “Made my day.”
Grammy enhanced rapper-actor T.I. and friends sampled the brand new Spring menu at The Living Room Sunday night while visiting the W in Midtown. We’re told the fancy nibbles included American Kobe beef mini sliders (with Gruyere cheese and port-onion jam), tuna poke wonton tacos (with avocado puree and micro greens) and the Summer salmon flatbread (with Marcona almonds, cucumber, baby greens, dill and capers).
The night before, Grammy winning Atlanta singer-songwriter Ne-Yo and pals were spotted soaking in the warm Spring weather on the The Living Room’s patio overlooking 14th Street, sipping a Grey Goose vodka and tonic.
