Pop star Katy Perry got her holiday weekend off on a positive note, scoring feedback from fans about her upcoming album, “Teenage Dream.”
The singer hosted a “top secret” listening party for the disc (due to drop August 24) at the W hotel’s Whiskey Park nightclub in Midtown.
Intel spies report Perry was “rocking five-inch heels and a vintage dress” she bought in London.
She danced along to some of the new tracks and gave a shout out to Atlanta producer Christopher “Tricky” Stewart who contributed to the new album.
On working with the inimitable Snoop Dogg on the album’s first single, “California Gurls,” Perry told fans: “The first time I met Snoop, it was a bit like ‘Lost.’ The door opens and in comes the smoke monster.”
Perry also popped by Q100’s The Bert Show to inform the jet-legged morning team (fresh off the “American Idol” finale festivities in Los Angeles) that her parents absolutely adore her fiance, quirky comic actor Russell Brand.
The star of the upcoming big screen comedy, “Get Him to the Greek” (co-starring Atlanta restaurant owner Sean “Diddy” Combs and in theatres Friday), meanwhile, tells Entertainment Weekly that Perry’s new single is currently in heavy rotation on his iPod.
Explains Brand to EW: “Yeah, I’m in this for the long term.”
