The Robert W. Woodruff Foundation

The Robert W. Woodruff Foundation, Inc. is an independent private foundation that provides grants for non-profits to support charitable, scientific, and educational activities. ASD assisted the Woodruff Foundation with their first renovation years ago, so it was a great honor that they selected us to provide full design services, including furniture, on their 2011 update too! Their new 7,418 SF space is located at 191 Peachtree in Atlanta, and it was designed to draw attention to the amazing panoramic views of the city.

While all of the offices use new furniture, about 70% of the furniture for this project was either re-upholstered or re-used in some way. Long-leaf pine that was salvaged from the plantation of Robert W. Woodruff in South Georgia provided wood throughout this office space, from the front reception desk to the millwork used in and around the conference room, and for several doors. This warm wood element is carried throughout the space lending to its comfortable ambiance. As if the pine from the founder’s own home wasn’t enough, portraits in beautiful golden frames give the Woodruff foundation a sense of history.
