A note from Sean McGinnis, President & Publisher:
In keeping with our commitment of providing a complimentary digital edition to our growing audience, we are excited to share with you the December issue of Atlanta magazine, digital download brought to you by Georgia Public Broadcasting.
This issue is a perennial favorite—our Annual Best of Atlanta issue! Curating this year’s Best of Atlanta was a particular challenge due to social distancing and other COVID-related protocols. But, you can rest assured that our editorial team has compiled a list of our favorites in Food & Drink (of course), Style & Design, Work & Play, Arts & Culture, and Beauty & Wellness. The magazine also called on our readers to provide their “Best” picks in over 30 categories, from Best New Restaurant to Best Art Gallery. This year’s list is diverse and covers the entire metro area. You’ll want to hold onto to this issue all year long and start planning out your visits now—just in time to enjoy some of your long-standing favorites, or discovering new places to shop, eat, drink, and explore.
The December issue also includes a new spin on one of the magazine’s favorite franchises: the Atlanta magazine “Groundbreakers.” After the year we’ve experienced it was time for us to recognize the people and the institutions that have done groundbreaking work this year to serve our community and our neighbors. These are people and companies that are doing extraordinary work and inspiring us all to do more!
Just as the thermometer drops in December, we provide an escape to Florida with the newest installment of our Visit Florida Getaway planner, encouraging you to trade in the slopes for the shores this winter.
And, because it’s the holidays, we provide our picks for great holiday gifts along with a list of our favorite holiday cocktail recipes.
Be sure to check out this issue’s “Faces of Atlanta,” introducing you to some of Atlanta’s leading business owners and experts from real estate and wealth management to jewelry, cosmetic dentistry, and specialized mental health, just to name a few.
As we eagerly begin putting 2020 in the rearview mirror, the upcoming holidays and New Year are certain to take on even more significance. Atlanta magazine takes this opportunity to wish you all a joyous holiday and wonderful New Year! We look forward to sharing our 60th Anniversary with all of you beginning in January 2021.
Until then, we encourage you to continue to engage with us each month with our print and digital editions and also be sure to sign up for our email newsletters. We remain committed to telling the stories of Atlanta that resonate with all of us and hope you enjoy this December issue. While we will always remain dedicated to delivering compelling stories in print, we are excited to bring you this digital edition as a complement to the print issue and, by so doing, extend our reach even further.
