3 reasons to rediscover Buford Highway

Best of Atlanta Food & Drink badgeFood Terminal
This Malaysian newcomer may be the most ambitious restaurant on Buford Highway. There’s the restaurant’s size—a basketball court, almost—slick design features such as neon signs that add color to the industrial space, and that menu. Order the Thai Chili Pan Mee noodles topped with spicy ground chicken and a fried egg. foodterminal.com

Dish Korean Cuisine
Dish’s menu dabbles in Korean trends (cheese-covered fried rice) but doesn’t neglect more classic dishes (galbi, kimchi jjigae). The restaurant, which opened in March next to Food Terminal, feels spacious and bright. More longstanding Korean restaurants may be trustworthy, but they’re feeling a little worn by comparison. facebook.com/dishkoreancuisine

The Halal Guys
This New York City street cart turned international franchise chose Buford Highway as its first Georgia outpost. The best dishes at this restaurant, which specializes in halal food (and features a patio, rare for BuHi), are the chicken platters, the baba ghanouj, and the beef gyro suffused with those signature creamy white and red-hot sauces. thehalalguys.com
