Jim Gibbs, who made his fortune with an eponymous landscape company, spent decades creating one of the nation’s largest residential gardens, now open to the public. In March, millions of daffodils light up Gibbs Gardens in Ball Ground. The blossoms are a tribute to his mother, who ushered in every spring by quoting Wordsworth: “When all at once I saw a crowd, a host, of golden daffodils.” 1987 Gibbs drive, ball ground, gibbsgardens.com
