Atlanta gets the Drunk History treatment
As someone who writes history books and drinks bourbon with enthusiasm, I’ve naturally added Comedy Central’s Drunk History to my must-watch list. While DH might be sophomoric it certainly delivers laughs, and, occasionally, a little bit of learning.
Video of the Day: Andre 3000 as Jimi Hendrix
Plot details are hazy, to put it mildly, in the trailer for Jimi: All Is by My Side, the Hendrix biopic starring Andre Benjamin of Outkast, aka Andre 3000. But here's what you can glean: Set in groovilicious 1966 London, the movie focuses on the early days of Hendrix's career, which evidently included a romantic entanglement with a young British woman, played by Imogen Poots. (That is the most British name ever; it sounds like a tertiary Harry Potter character, one of the Hufflepuff quidditch players, maybe.)

You're more likely to find someone sporting 19th-century goggles, a bustier, a pocket watch, and a machine arm while riding a skeletal, steam-powered tractor in Atlanta than you are in any other U.S. city.
Fox 5 anchor Amanda Davis’ weird, sad exit
Looking red carpet ready in a red dress and matching lipstick, Davis, standing in front of the anchor desk, smiled and told viewers: "I have seen and heard and reported on stories from Bankhead to Buckhead to the White House. The airline's newest in-flight safety video, while lacking the subtlety of the original, is its funniest yet, with nods to Atari, Alf, the high-top fade, and other icons of the 80s.
Stopping crime by making it illegal
I was drawn to this 11 Alive online story by the appalling headline "Transvestite prostitutes becoming more violent in Midtown." For Pete's and Patricia's sake, the headline isn't just offensive because it uses a term many consider an epithet. It's also constructed in a way that a) implies transgendered prostitutes are an organized unit perpetrating violence b) assumes the people allegedly involved in a particular alleged attack were, in fact, prostitutes and c) conjures a delicious mental image of a planning meeting where a group of men dressed as women plan a raid on Mary Mac's.
Totally awesome Walking Dead map
I don't know about you; but I spend half of each Walking Dead episode squinting at the scenery trying to figure out exactly where in metro Atlanta—aka zombie capital of the USA—that particular zombie gut spill occurred. The good folks at the Walking Dead Locations fan site have put together a helpful Google map that you can use to track the location of every kill, splat, and melodramatic Glenn-Maggie spat. Enjoy
