About two years ago, our dining critic Bill Addison went in search of the best barbeque in the Atlanta area. He searched low and high, finding joints hidden far outside of the city in towns like Jackson and Gainesville. A total of 58 joints were reviewed in all. After all that searching, just one place inside Atlanta made Addison’s top five and it wasn’t even a full-time BBQ joint.
At the time, P’Cheen’s chef de cuisine Mike LaSage was hosting “Mike’s Bone Lick BBQ” just once a week on Monday nights with a menu that Addison described as “devoted to the hedonism of smoked meats.” P’cheen took the fourth postition along with the title of “the best libations alongside barbecue – intown or anywhere in North Georgia.” Tomorrow, Bone Lick BBQ will finally become a full-time reality.
Located at 1133 Huff Road, Bone Lick BBQ will be offering lunch, dinner, drinks and delivery every Tuesday through Sunday. The kitchen will be open from 11 am until 11 pm. And what exactly will they be serving? LaSage and the P’Cheen crew have carried over and expanded the menu to include a few new offerings. Check out the entire menu below.
What you won’t find on the official menu is the massive heaping of a sandwich below. The “Fat Ass Muff” boasts “layers of slow smoked pork, boneless ribs, brisket, smoked sausage and house bacon are piled high and topped with collards, slaw, pickles and fried shoestring onions, all on a sourdough round.” If you can eat the whole thing in an hour, you get a t-shirt.
