Promising “healthy food for a happy world,” Flower Child plans to open in the Shops Around Lenox on May 13. The counter-service restaurant is owned by Fox Restaurant Concepts. Sound familiar? Flower Child shares the food philosophy and style of True Food Kitchen—located just across the parking lot at Lenox Mall—owned by Fox Restaurants founder Sam Fox.
“They’re two different dining experiences: True Food is full-service, sit-down, with a bar. Flower Child has a different price point and a more casual environment,” Fox says. “We like the area. There’s a yoga place, a Lululemon, and a good health vibe.”
Flower Child has eight locations nationwide with four more in the works, including one in Sandy Springs (targeting a fall 2018 opening). It serves grain bowls, salads, wraps, and vegetable-centric mix-and-match plates for lunch and dinner. Menus are based on seasonality and local produce. Proteins are raised naturally without additives. Depending on the season, you’ll find menu items such as Vietnamese Crunch salad with spicy lemongrass vinaigrette or Indian-spiced cauliflower with turmeric, dates, and almonds.
“We want people to feel good when they come in, eat, and leave,” Fox says.
Flower Child will offer draft beer, wine, and kombucha, as well as three juices that change daily and six seasonal lemonades and teas. Gluten-free desserts such as lemon loaf and vegan pudding will be made in-house.
The Buckhead location will seat 85 guests, with additional tables on the patio. Fox describes the aesthetic as “East Coast flower potting shed.” It’ll have a raw look, with old fixtures, wood, and a color scheme of green, white, and black.
Fox Restaurant Concepts is also bringing an Italian restaurant called North to Georgia. It’ll offer handmade pastas and pizzas, as well as cocktails and weekend brunch. Expect it to open in late 2018 or early 2019 in Sandy Springs.
Note: Since publishing, the Flower Child targeted opening date has been pushed back to June.
