David Simmons, who trained at Le Cordon Bleu and ran his own catering company for 15 years, has opened his first brick-and-mortar restaurant. Located at 4153 Flat Shoals Parkway, Notoso’s takes inspiration from Simmons’ home state, New Jersey, and his current home here in Atlanta.
Menu items include fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, shrimp and grits, salmon croquettes, a New York reuben, and a surf ‘n’ turf burger. He’s open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner during the week and hosts a jazz dinner on Sundays.
“I like to make sure everyone can get whatever they want, whenever they want it,” Simmons says.
He aims to please with the prices, too. The average breakfast plate costs just $5, with lunch averaging $8 and dinner about $12. There’s no bar yet, but Simmons hopes to serve beer and wine in January.
