Dunwoody’s first food hall, the Hall at Ashford Lane, opened May 31, featuring a massive bar, nine food stalls, and an option for table service. “Our mission is to create a vibrant and inclusive space where people can come together to savor exceptional food, enjoy refreshing beverages, and celebrate life’s moments,” says owner Jamal Wilson, who operates a similar food hall in Orlando.

At 17,000 square feet, there’s plenty of space for the variety of offerings available at the Hall. In the “Library” and the “Grey Room,” diners can sit and order from a single menu with items from every food stall, as well as the bar. A server delivers the food and provides one bill, making it easier to sample items of multiple cuisines, whether for brunch, lunch, or dinner. Of course, there is plenty of room to enjoy a meal if you choose to order at the individual counters as well. Event space and a golf simulator are intended to attract parties and corporate groups to the space. Walk-ins are welcome to use the simulator, which includes other games like baseball, dodgeball, and a zombie apocalypse game, for $50 per hour.

“I can’t wait for people to experience the space and tell me what they like. The customer always has a unique take on what you have created and it’s really cool hearing what speaks to them,” Wilson says.

Some of the food stalls are owned independently by chefs Wilson worked with at the Hall in Orlando; others are owned by the Hall for now. The plan is for Atlanta chefs to take those over in the coming months, Wilson explains. “We hired 75 local cooks, sous chefs, chefs, back of the house, and front of the house staff that will be executing our collective vision. I believe in that way we are as local as it gets.”
