Kennesaw hosts the thirty-sixth annual Big Shanty Festival, named after the original moniker of this former railroad town. Visit the Southern Museum, a Smithsonian affiliate, to see the General engine—star of the Great Locomotive Chase of 1862, made famous by a Disney movie starring Fess Parker as a Union spy.
