    Georgia Design Awards 2022

Designers from across the state were honored December 1 at the inaugural Georgia Design Awards Gala, produced by Atlanta magazine and Atlanta Magazine’s HOME. The event brought together all segments of the design community, including architecture, construction, and interior design, to recognize excellence and highlight outstanding projects.

The event, held at The Starling in Midtown Atlanta, was sponsored by the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center (ADAC), AmericasMart Atlanta, Construction Resources, Circa Lighting, the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), The Starling, and Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove. Emcees were Sean McGinnis, president and publisher of Atlanta magazine and Atlanta Magazine’s HOME, and Betsy Riley, editor in chief of Atlanta magazine and editorial director of Atlanta Magazine’s HOME.

Entrants submitted a wide variety of projects ranging from single rooms and product installations to entire homes and public spaces. Entries were judged by an independent panel of design professionals from outside of Georgia. The judges selected gold, silver, and bronze winners in each of four categories: interiors, residential architecture, outdoor spaces, and contract design. One of the contest’s top awards, The Reader’s Choice Award, was selected by the readers of atlantamagazine.com.

      Whiskey Festival 2022

On Thursday, October 6, Atlanta Magazine’s Whiskey Festival, sponsored by Your Atlanta Area BMW Centers, returned for its seventh year. We returned to the Atlanta Westside at Guardian Works at Echo Street West, a 19-acre development along the new Westside Beltline. The renovated 1908 brick and beam building features 8,000 SF of double-height conditioned interior event space, 4,000 SF of covered patio space which spills into a 10,000 SF courtyard.  This year’s event expanded into all three of these areas.

More than 600 guests enjoyed whiskey samplings from a wide array of top-shelf whiskeys from bourbons to tequila and rum. In addition to sampling the finest whiskeys, our guests had the opportunity to meet and talk to master distillers, spirits ambassadors, and the owners of some of the most talked about whiskeys—including top shelf standbys and the newest up and comers generating a lot of buzz.

Our long-term partnership with Talk of The Town Catering & Special Events continued at this year’s Whiskey Festival. Talk of The Town offered a host of favorites designed to pair with the whiskey tastings. Additionally, guests were entertained with live music and a host of activities, including cigar rolling, that complemented their experience.  Roche Bobois was back to sponsor this year’s green screen station.
