2019 Atlanta Jewish Film Festival Closing Night

After 21 days, over 180 screenings, and appearances from over 250 guest speakers, the 2019 Atlanta Jewish Film Festival has come to a close with the finale of the mouthwatering nosh-umentary followed by a themed tasting reception. The festival proudly hosted more than 38,000 moviegoers at theaters across metro Atlanta, including their spacious new home at the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center. AJFF held 43 screenings there and operated from the venue for 17 days. Mayor Rusty Paul restated the warm welcome that City Springs extended to the AJFF community on Closing Night, a sold out evening of over 1,000 attendees on February 26, where the delightful and fun-loving Atlanta premiere of Chewdaism: A Taste of Jewish Montreal was featured and winners for the 2019 Audience Award and Jury Prize awards were announced. The film was followed by a post-film Q&A with the filmmakers, Eli Batalion and Jamie Elman (creators and co-stars of YidLife Crisis), and moderated by radio and television host, Steak Shapiro. A Canadian food tasting reception featuring bites by Added Touch Catering followed, bringing the annual festival to a savory close. Though the annual festival has ended, AJFF remains active year round, offering a variety of programming initiatives that connect the film arts and Jewish culture with diverse audiences.
