Promotion: 2015 AIA Awards

On October 29, AIA Atlanta celebrated the winners of its “Build Something Great” awards at historic Greystone in Piedmont Park. Winners of Honor Awards were Mark Levine, David Marvin, Thomas Little, Shelby Morris, House Walker Architecture, and Doug Sams. Tim Bragan, Sylvan Miles, and Harry P. Ross took first place in the National Pavilion Design Competition, while Diaz Paunetto Arquitectos took second and Chasm Architecture won third. Residential awards went to Surber Barber Choate + Hertlein Architects, Lord Aeck Sargent, Lightroom, West Architecture Studio, and Robert M. Cain. The People’s Choice honoree was Dwell Design Studio for Haven at Avalon.

Caroline C. Kilgore is a native Atlantan, who grew up playing in Orme Park and eating at George’s in Virginia Highlands and remembers waving to bicycle shorts man every week from the back of her mom’s mini van en route to soccer practice (while her carpool friends giggled). An accomplished photographer, Kilgore studied photojournalism at the University of Georgia. She joined the magazine in 2008 and spends her days working with freelance photographers and shooting for the magazine. She enjoys bodysuits, Robyn, and all things cat-related.
