High above Midtown Wednesday, Atlantans celebrated the rise of a new – albeit ephemeral – addition to the skyline. Installation artist and SCAD alum Jason Hackenwerth debuted “Hegemonster,” an 18-foot-tall balloon sculpture, on SCAD Atlanta’s rooftop terrace. The piece was commissioned to celebrate SCAD’s double #1 rankings for its interior design program and maximum term of re-accreditation for its architecture program. Like the balloons, SCAD’s building arts programs rise to the top.
