Like the Good Housekeeping Seal, the Senior Select Seal appears on products that have been evaluated by a local team of older adults, who verify that it is easy to use. A panel of experts creates consistent tests for the products, which range from kitchen goods to incontinence items (the Georgia Tech Research Institute acts as a testing lab for larger products). The seal was the brainchild of Alison O’Neil, whose Atlanta-
based nonprofit Beauty Becomes You provides free hair care, nail care, skin care, and massages to low-income seniors. Testing began in August 2015, and so far 80 products have earned the label.
