Agnes Scott College

Agnes Scott College is a place where scholarship, leadership, and global engagement are not just valued—they are a fundamental, intentional part of the college culture.

For 130 years, Agnes Scott has been educating students to think deeply, live honorably, and engage the intellectual and social challenges of their times. Offering 34 undergraduate majors and 31 minors, Agnes Scott is home to SUMMIT, a signature educational experience providing every student with an individualized course of study and co-curricular experiences that develop leadership abilities and understanding of complex global issues.

As a result of SUMMIT, Agnes Scott ranked number one in the country among national liberal arts colleges on the Most Innovative Schools list in U.S. News & World Report’s 2019 edition of “Best Colleges.” U.S. News & World Report also ranked Agnes Scott number one among national liberal arts colleges that promote social mobility and number two nationally for best undergraduate teaching. SUMMIT’s key components include:

  • Global learning and leadership development curriculum anchored by Journeys, a first-year course with a weeklong faculty-led cultural immersion experience
  • A board of advisers for each student: an individualized team that will help prepare each student to be successful in both their academic and professional life
  • A student-created digital portfolio of their four years of undergraduate work and accomplishments
  • Co-curricular experiences, including leadership immersion programs and career/graduate school preparedness workshops

Agnes Scott now offers a master’s degree in social innovation; master’s degrees and graduate certificates in writing and digital communication and applied technology; and graduate certificates in data visualization, and evaluation and assessment methods. Graduate programs at Agnes Scott are open to women and men who are interested

With numerous research and internship opportunities, and more than 60 student clubs and organizations, students are immersed in a supportive, vibrant, diverse environment at the college, where they form lifelong friendships with fellow Scotties and leave with the skills to lead everywhere.
