Cafe Agora (Buckhead)
After opening a second location in Midtown last year, Cafe Agora owner Al Ozelci decided it was time to move his Buckhead flagship down the street, away from the encroaching shadow of the Buckhead Atlanta development. He took over the former Thai Silk space, giving the interior and exterior a coastal-themed makeover in blues and whites. His menu meanders through the same satisfying Mediterranean territory as before, with bright-tasting vegetable salads (try them all on the shareable maza platter, pictured) and meaty enticements like the Iskender kebab—lamb and beef gyro sliced onto a bed of pita with tomato sauce and yogurt, a dish popular in Ozelci’s native Turkey. Affordable, high-quality food from this part of the globe is scarce in Atlanta, making both outposts of Agora local treasures.
