Nam Phuong – Norcross

If you crave a wider breadth of Vietnamese dishes than the steamy, beefy, spicy bowls of pho found up and down Buford Highway, head to the original Jimmy Carter location of this sprawling restaurant. Follow the lead of the buzzy, multigenerational crowd chowing down on rice cakes, Vietnamese egg crepes with tofu, lotus root salad with shrimp, and the signature ba vi (grilled meatballs, ground shrimp molded around sugarcane, and tender beef rolled in la lot leaves, with rice paper, vermicelli, and dipping sauces to create your own wraps). We’re partial to the Norcross outpost, but the restaurant also runs a smaller sister operation on Buford Highway.Photo by Christopher T. Martin
