There are many doctors in metro Atlanta who can guide your heart health. Find out how each medical center can help.
GWINNETT MEDICAL CENTER
There is one good thing about heart disease: You actually have the power to prevent it. “In fact, evidence has shown that healthy lifestyle changes, like stopping smoking, avoiding fatty meats, reducing stress, and lowering blood pressure at any stage of life can help to reverse and prevent damage,” says Jim John, MD, a Gwinnett Medical Group cardiologist. At Gwinnett Medical Center, we believe your heart deserves the best care possible. That’s why for more than 30 years we’ve provided hands-on care from specialty-trained experts, a full range of diagnostic services, and the most advanced treatment options available.
NORTHEAST GEORGIA MEDICAL CENTER
The Heart Center of Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) is the largest cardiology practice in the region, with more than 65 providers seeing patients at 15 locations. Our cardiologists make sure patients’ hearts stay healthy by treating routine and complex conditions, and they lead new ideas about prevention and treatment through clinical research and trials. The Heart Center’s providers also form the core of the cardiac care team at Northeast Georgia Medical Center’s three hospitals in Braselton, Gainesville, and Barrow County. It’s all part of Northeast Georgia Health System, a nonprofit that serves more than 1 million people in more than 18 counties across the region.
WELLSTAR HEALTH SYSTEM
WellStar’s Know Your Heart program is a preventive, self-pay screening initiative designed to determine your risk of heart disease, stroke, and other serious medical conditions. WellStar cardiovascular medicine physicians review all Know Your Heart screening results, and patients receive written results, as well as a follow-up call with heart health recommendations and the opportunity to enroll in a personalized wellness program to improve risk factors. A free initial consultation is also available at this time.
