Dr. Prasad Garimella is originally from Atmakur, India. He graduated with honors from Kurnool Medical College and completed his residency in internal medicine at Weiss Memorial Hospital, University of Chicago. He earned his fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine from Cook County Hospital and his fellowship in sleep medicine from Rush University Hospital.
Since 2004, Dr. Garimella has been part of Gwinnett Pulmonary Group, providing comprehensive and compassionate care to patients. He is board certified in pulmonary medicine, critical care medicine, and sleep medicine, and is a fellow of American College of Chest Physicians and American Association of Sleep Medicine. He is a clinical associate professor at the Georgia campus of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is also currently serving as the chief of the department of medicine at Gwinnett Hospital System.
He specializes in diagnosing and treating patients with lung cancer, COPD, asthma, and sleep apnea. He has particular expertise in electro-navigational bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound bronchoscopy.
