Said Elshihabi, MD, neurosurgeon and founder of Legacy Brain & Spine, is a board-certified neurosurgeon with an emphasis in the management of surgical and nonsurgical spinal disorders. He has been caring for the brain and spine patients of Atlanta since 2012, but created Legacy in 2017 so that he could provide a more personal/concierge type of care for his patients.
Using established procedures along with the latest technology, Dr. Elshihabi promotes an educational approach, treating patients like family to ease the anxiety associated with spinal disease. “My primary goal is for both parties to understand the origin of their spinal issues, and I utilize all available resources to resume their daily lives without pain, such as therapy, non-narcotic medications, acupuncture, and interventional injections.” Due to the availability of minimally invasive treatment options, Dr. Elshihabi is able to avoid a surgical option for the majority of his patients.
The practice also offers a state-of-the-art upright, load-bearing MRI scanner. Many conventional “closed” MRI systems scan the spine in a recumbent setting, but Dr. Elshihabi is able to appreciate the nuances of various spinal disorders when the patient is standing upright. This position also tends to be more comfortable for the patient than the standard MRI scanner.
Legacy Brain & Spine continues to expand in the Atlanta metropolitan area, with offices currently in Marietta, Cartersville, Tucker, and Riverdale. Dr. Elshihabi and his qualified team stand ready to improve your quality of life and welcome anyone to experience what it feels like to be treated like family.
