This retreat channels both Florida’s Palm Beach and the French Riviera, although it belongs to a family home in Buckhead.

Tiki top
“We always love a mix of materials, and in thinking about the space—for entertaining and relaxing—we were drawn to the warmth of a bamboo ceiling,” says Charlotte Lucas, an interior designer from Charlotte, who worked with Atlanta architect Yong Pak on the design of this multipurpose pool house.

Climbing the walls
The trellised pattern looks like the real thing, but it’s a wall covering from Lucas’s own company, House of Harris.

Swanky sectional
Yellow plaid fabric from Brunschwig & Fils covers this sofa by Jan Showers. Vivid patterned pillows add a tropical layer.

Mix it up
A midcentury table from 1stDibs and an Oushak rug through Nashville Rug Gallery add to the collected look of the room.

Rounded rattan
A duo of rattan chairs from India Mahdavi echo the curvy shapes of the windows.

Design Tip: Black may not seem a likely choice for wall and ceiling trim in a pool house, but Lucas deftly pulls it off, with Farrow & Ball “Pitch Black” used as a sophisticated neutral next to the other vibrant colors.
