“We always love a mix of materials, and in thinking about the space—for entertaining and relaxing—we were drawn to the warmth of a bamboo ceiling,” says Charlotte Lucas, an interior designer from Charlotte, who worked with Atlanta architect Yong Pak on the design of this multipurpose pool house.

The trellised pattern looks like the real thing, but it’s a wall covering from Lucas’s own company, House of Harris.

Design Tip: Black may not seem a likely choice for wall and ceiling trim in a pool house, but Lucas deftly pulls it off, with Farrow & Ball “Pitch Black” used as a sophisticated neutral next to the other vibrant colors.
