If a custom sofa just isn’t what the homeowner expected, it’s the designer who gets stuck with the bill—and the sofa. That’s just one way design pros end up with excess inventory, much of it top-quality goods. To help take it off their hands, Sarah Cyrus and Allyn Stewart, former colleagues at ADAC, opened a high-end consignment shop on Huff Road late last year.
Sarah Cyrus Home—Cyrus is the owner, Stewart is manager—features an eclectic mix, from original art and antiques to vintage and new products. Careful vetting keeps it feeling fresh and up-to-date. “Our store is especially an asset for people with a deadline, people who are moving or downsizing,” says Cyrus.
Recent finds included Bertoia side chairs, Chinese ancestor portraits, and a massive antique French cabinet. A 72-inch parquet round dining table by Guy Chaddock was marked at $3,200 ($5,500 retail), and a Stickley Mission oak table and chairs were $5,500 ($14,000 retail). 1194 Huff Road
