Sketches of starbursts, stripes, and even cacti cover Brandy Schuman’s hand-cast ceramic plates, jewelry dishes, and spoons. Her colorful line, A Sensible Habit, began with quirky stationery and printed textiles, but Schuman recently expanded to tableware and jewelry. “I love entertaining friends and making napkins and table runners, so I thought it might be fun to put my doodles on ceramics,” says Schuman, who studied printmaking at Georgia State. Her wares have graced the shelves at Made Again, Citizen Supply, West Elm pop-ups, and Kendra Scott, which commissioned 800 plates to display its own spring jewelry line. In addition to tableware ($16 to $34), find ceramic tassel necklaces ($68) and cheeky earrings (including studs shaped like boobs, $36). Next up: larger plates—or something equally functional. “Men don’t get ring dishes.”
