Taylor Burke Home’s recently opened showroom displays the brand’s signature colorful style, from pink tufted ottomans to turquoise barrel chairs. This is the first permanent showroom for the South Carolina–based firm, founded in 2012 by designer Julianne Taylor, who started creating furniture when her husband’s career took them to China. “In Shanghai I had factories at my fingertips willing to make anything with a simple photo as inspiration,” she says. All upholstery is made in the Southeast of sustainable, ecofriendly materials. Collaborations with other companies include Emily McCarthy, Cotton + Quill, Lacefield, and Times Two Design. As an added convenience, many items are available cash-and-carry. In February, look for Taylor’s first book, DesignHER, about female home decor entrepreneurs.
