Furkids

MISSION
Furkids is a sanctuary for homeless animals and people who love them. We rescue defenseless animals; provide medical care, emotional nurturing, and training; and match animals with families in forever homes. Our volunteer programs provide healing and growth for people who are strengthened by the human-animal bond.

  • RESCUE: Furkids doesn’t discriminate; we save all cats and dogs whether they’re healthy, vulnerable, high-risk, sick, injured, or newborn.
  • MATCHMAKING: Through multiple programs, service projects, fostering, dog and cat shelters, and 15 adoption centers, we match human and furry friends forever.
  • EDUCATION: Furkids has one of the largest populations of FIV+ cats and educates people about living happily with these amazing animals.
  • OUT-OF-STATE “TRANS-FUR” PROGRAM: We work with Georgia’s overpopulated animal control facilities and local rescue partners, as well as no-kill shelters in 11 northern states. Thousands more lives will find forever homes through this innovate lifesaving initiative.

HOW YOU CAN HELP
Furkids has open doors, and there are many unique, rewarding service opportunities for children, adults, and group volunteers. Our shelters are a welcome destination for everyone. There are three area thrift stores, a constant need for foster families, and volunteer support at events and in the shelter. Volunteer, foster, adopt, or donate today.
