As president of Jamestown, Phillips’s profile rose when he led the development of New York City’s famed Chelsea Market and Atlanta’s Westside Provisions District. Phillips’s largest adaptive-reuse undertaking yet is the transformation of the 2 million-square-foot former Sears, Roebuck & Co. warehouse in the Old Fourth Ward into Ponce City Market, a colossal mix of offices, apartments, and retail stores, with an all-star cast of culinary talent in the central food hall.
Market Watch Travel + Leisure last year named PCM, alongside New York’s High Line and a circular Chinese skyscraper, to its “World’s Coolest New Tourist Attractions” list.
