A romantic dinner isn’t the only way to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Get your heart literally pumping at a one-mile underwear run, or let a tenor serenade your loved one. Whether you’re someone’s Valentine or still looking for one, here are 22 romantic events.

Romantic Evenings

Sips Under the Sea
2/13, 6 p.m.
There’s always more fish in the sea at the Georgia Aquarium cocktail party. Drink martinis and munch on tapas with dolphins and beluga whales for a date.

Valentines in the Garden
2/14, 7 p.m.
Love blossoms at this Atlanta Botanical Garden evening of dancing, drinks, and live music through the new orchid display. You can even take a piece of the garden home with free long-stemmed roses for guests.



Valentine’s Day Love Songs
2/13, 12 p.m.
Tenor Bradley Howard and the Vega String Quartet set a romantic mood for the weekend at this lunchtime concert series at the Carlos Museum.

 From the Heart
2/13–14, 8 p.m.
Let the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra serenade you at this concert of love songs led by conductor Michael Krajewski and singer-songwriter Tony DeSare.

A Romantic Valentine’s Day Concert
2/14, 7:30 p.m.
This concert from Mexican violinist Anabel Ramirez and local bass Ben Polite shows that it only takes two for a good Valentine’s Day at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center.



Love Letters
2/13–22; 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday
Love letters are alive and well in this Academy Theatre play about a two friends who fall for each other through snail mail at Hapeville Performing Arts Center.

Luscious Love
2/13–14, 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
Vaudeville, chocolate, cabaret, burlesque, live music, a circus, and comedy—this Paris on Ponce night satisfies any desire.

Valentine’s Day Improv Show
2/14, 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
Whether you’re coupled up or single, everyone’s love life is fodder for romantic comedies. Dad’s Garage turns your heartwarming or heartbreaking stories into an improv show at 7 Stages.

Roméo et Juliette
2/14, 8 p.m.
Atlanta Ballet dances through Shakespeare’s greatest tragedy at this Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre production. This is the final performance.

Vices and Valentines
2/14, 11:30 p.m.
If your vice is burlesque, head to the New American Shakespeare Tavern to see Talloolah Love and Persephone Phoenix of Hearts Ablaze Entertainment. For a full night of illicit love, see Romeo and Juliet at the theater beforehand.



Valentine’s Day Red & Black Salsa Party
2/14, 8 p.m.
Salsa dance to a live band at Thirsty’s Bar and Grill, and enjoy the complimentary chocolate fountain.

Valloween Costume Cabaret
2/14, 8 p.m.
If fancy dress isn’t your thing, don a costume for Red Light Cafe’s Halloween and Valentine’s Day mashup, complete with live music and sword dancing.

Be My Stupid Cupid Valentine

If you’re single and ready to mingle with margaritas, El Taco’s night starts with “Jilted Juice” shots (pineapple-infused tequila) and a “Misery Loves Company” dinner special.

Bloody Valentines: An Evening of Murder Ballads and Mayhem
2/14, 9 p.m.
For the scorned, Aileen Loy & Till Someone Loses An Eye and The Thimblerig Circus headline the Earl’s night of murder ballads. This valentine will be bloody, so dress accordingly.

Baby Cake Run
2/14, 9 a.m.
Kids under 10 can run their way to a cupcake at this Cumming race. There’s a Peachtree qualifier 15/5K run for parents, too.

Valentine’s Day Animal Enrichment Extravaganza
2/14, 9:30 a.m.–4 p.m.
Would you be a giant panda’s valentine? You have the chance at Zoo Atlanta’s animal amore event, when zoo critters get special Valentines throughout the day.

My Family Valentine
2/14, 11 a.m.
Atlanta Symphony Orchestra leads budding romantics through classic love stories, like Romeo and Juliet and Sleeping Beauty.


Athletic Events

Chattahoochee Challenge 10K
2/14, 6:30 a.m. registration
Give your actual heart some love with a scenic 10K on the banks of the Chattahoochee River. The race serves as a Peachtree qualifier.

Valentine’s Day Cupid Bike Ride
2/14, 11:30 a.m.
Dress up like Cupid to cycle through the city, starting at Kirkwood re-Cycle.

Cupid’s Undie Run

Love Stories of Oakland
