The People
AmericasMart hosts a stellar schedule of educational programming, tastemaker discussions, and celebrity appearances including several Georgia favorites. Local darling Mandy Kellogg Rye of Waiting on Martha Home shares her tips for “Social Media Strategy for Retail Success in 2020 and Beyond,” while Atlanta designer and HGTV icon Brian Patrick Flynn joins this season’s Shop the Show lineup. In addition to picking his favorite products at Market, Brian will host a Hygge Happy Hour at the Accent Décor showroom in Building 1. Tiffani Thiessen, Paloma Contreras, Katie Stauffer, and Liz Marie Galvan round out the Shop the Show influencers attending January Market. The Parties
January Market is always an exciting experience. From cocktail parties to book signings to showroom soirees, there is something around every corner. This year’s highlight: Pick out your favorite navy dress and art nouveau accessories and head to the Roaring Navy Party on Thursday night in celebration of Sherwin-Williams’ 2020 Color of the Year, Naval.
Gift for Life’s Party for Life industry celebration and fundraiser takes place on Wednesday, January 15, at Fernbank Museum with designer Thom Filicia serving as Honorary Event Chairman. All proceeds benefit the grant-making efforts of Gift for Life’s beneficiary, DIFFA: Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS.
The Food (and Drinks!)
Atlanta favorites descend on the Demonstration Kitchen to tempt the tastebuds of Market-goers throughout the week. Matthew Basford from Canoe kicks things off with “A Taste of Australia in Atlanta.” James Beard nominee and Top Chef alum Kevin Gillespie will share the perfect pork dish on Wednesday, followed by Chef Mei Lin of The Consulate on Thursday and Matthew Ridgway of Cooks & Soldiers on Saturday. Mixologists from AIX, Red Phone Booth, and Tiny Lou’s will also be serving up their favorite cocktails.
