MISSION
Furkids is one of the largest no-kill animal rescues and shelters in the Southeast, saving more than 5,000 homeless and abandoned animals each year. Each animal receives the most innovative medical care and emotional nurturing to heal their spirit and restore their health—preparing them for their forever home. A first-of-its-kind animal sanctuary located on more than nine acres in Cumming, Furkids is a unique destination shelter where rescued animals, good humans, and the great outdoors connect. Visitors come to Furkids for low-cost veterinary services, classes, workshops, and community events. Perhaps most importantly, they come to Furkids to volunteer, foster, or adopt from among the hundreds of animals seeking a second chance at life.
How you can help
Everyone is welcome at Furkids. Take part in activities connecting you with animals, including adoption and foster events, monthly low-cost vaccine clinics, Yoga on the Green, and more! You can even plan a party, meeting, or other event (indoors or outdoors). With approximately 1,000 active volunteers and a robust volunteer program for people of all ages, including children and seniors, there are plenty of opportunities to be part of Furkids’ lifesaving work. Volunteering your time, creativity, and skills makes a direct impact on you—and the thousands of homeless animals Furkids saves each year. Looking for a hearty dose of giving back? Furkids Animal Rescue and Shelters is waiting for your arrival.
