Video of the Day: Lil Jon rocks the vote

Feat. Lena Dunham, Fred Armisen, Whoopi Goldberg, and Natasha Lyonne. Also Ireland Baldwin, because why not?

Way back in 1990, Madonna repackaged her hit “Vogue” in a commercial urging the kids to vote (or risk getting a “spanky.”) And the tradition continues, with Atlanta rapper Lil Jon asking celebrities what they’re turning out for (get it?) this midterm election. Lil Jon, in case you wondered, is turning out for marijauna legalization. Lena Dunham, who was in preschool when Madonna recorded that first Rock the Vote ad, is turning out for reproductive rights. Lil Jon dances with a giant, and somewhat phallic, joint; “Lil Lena” dances in what looks like an oversized onesie. If you want a lengthy analysis (with charts!) about whether or not celebs telling people to do anything is effective, read this from The Atlantic. Or you could just watch the video. And remember, early voting in Georgia starts Monday.
