A toddy is a hot, sweetened cocktail—the perfect concoction for winter evenings. This one balances sweetness with tart cranberry juice, which also happens to add some crimson holiday cheer.
Ingredients
1 1/2 ounces (3 tablespoons) pure cranberry juice (not sweetened cranberry cocktail)
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 ounce (1 tablespoon) fresh squeezed orange juice
1 ounce (2 tablespoons) rum or bourbon
2 or 3 whole cloves
Cinnamon stick (optional)
1/2 cup boiling water
Orange slice or twist for garnish
Instructions
In a mug, combine the cranberry juice and honey. Warm in the microwave for 30 seconds and stir to dissolve the honey. Add the orange juice, bourbon, cloves, and cinnamon stick, if using. Pour in the boiling water, stir to combine, and garnish with the orange slice or twist.
