I love Octopus Bar because after living in Europe, I’m a late diner. Dinner for me is between nine and ten. They open when everyone else is closing and have awesome food.
Obsession: I am obsessed with Habit Cosmetics nail polishes. They have great colors and last for ages. my latest thing is cuticle tattoos. Such a fun way to add some edge to your manicure. Nail trends: Neutral colors and simple, geometric nail art. Gold is big in an accent stripe.
Go-to drink: Negroni
Relaxing: I am a big fan of just hanging out in the parks by my house. I recently discovered the East Palisades trail along the Chattahoochee.
Fashion designer: Diane von Furstenberg is always a favorite.
Workout: My daily yoga and meditation practice. I float around to different yoga studios just to switch it up. Tough Love Yoga is a fave, as is Agni Power Yoga.
Shopping: I love to shop at City Issue in Inman Park for vintage furniture and accessories. It is also great for gifts.

Travel destination: Right now I’m planning a trip up to California and the Oregon coast. Also, I’m turning forty this year, so I’m toying with the idea of heading to India or Senegal to mark the transition to a new decade.
Five years ago, after living in New York, Paris, and Munich, Myka Barbato returned to her native Atlanta and opened the posh waxing salon Wax and brow bar Blink. In 2012 the Spelman and Parsons School of Design grad added a sleek nail salon, Buff, to her little beauty empire in Studioplex in the Old Fourth Ward. Her adopted European sensibility shows at her nearby loft, where she spills her latest obsessions.
