Splashed on a Black-owned bank in the heart of the storied Black neighborhood of Sweet Auburn, reflects a time in which Black Atlantans were still considered second-class citizens within their city—even on Auburn Avenue, a street synonymous with Black wealth, prosperity, and achievement.
