In this cozy Buckhead showroom, you’ll find leather man-cave couches as wide as a truck and upholstery hues you can’t imagine anyone wanting in their living room.

Throughout the city are many lovely shops that double as design ateliers, but our favorites are at the Galleries of Peachtree Hills.

It’s not surprising that this Georgian beauty by famed Atlanta architect Neel Reid would be a favorite for designer Patricia McLean, a Shutze Award winner (which recognizes the region’s best in classic design). But this Buckhead home also has sentimental appeal for her.

“The Circle,” as it’s known to insiders, is actually a rather industrial-looking street with one small roundabout at the end. Over the past 25 years or so, it has become home to more than 60 showrooms and stores, nearly all of them catering to both retail and trade customers.

Buckhead’s new Cambria Gallery is more like a fine jewelry store than a dusty stone yard. This slick, polished space—owned by Construction Resources, the region’s exclusive Cambria fabricator—showcases all 126 of the firm’s natural quartz surfaces.

Every September, the fashion glossies balloon into fat tomes chock-full of fantasy fall styles. In the same aspirational spirit, I went hunting for our city’s most radically luxurious goodies.

If you call ahead and come during the hour before the store opens or after it closes, you can take a shower at Pirch. Though this option has been available since the store opened, the folks there said I was the first to give it a go.

Like the Atlanta BeltLine, Buckhead’s PATH400 is converting otherwise unused stretches of land into publicly accessible greenspace—but that’s where the similarities end.
