Three things we love about the women’s contemporary clothing shop, new to Buckhead Atlanta.

A new Thai restaurant called Bangkok Station (550 Pharr Road, Atlanta 30305) will open in Buckhead this April. Owner Ratinthon Nithithanawut and chef Nathaphak (Paul) Maphu will use their restaurant experience in Thailand to forge an authentic dining experience inspired by the rail system there—hence the name Bangkok Station.

The founders of Yik Yak are Brooks Buffington and Tyler Droll. They’re both 24 and graduated in 2013 from Furman University, where they noticed the popularity on campus of certain Twitter parody accounts. When my husband and I moved into our first apartment, fresh out of grad school, we bought our first sofa at the Buckhead Havertys. Somehow, it seems a fitting sign of today’s more hopeful times that Havertys is back in Buckhead—in the very same building where we bought that sofa. Last week I was excited to tour the newly renovated, 23,000-square-foot “Style Studio”—a more compact showroom that relies on technology to display custom options and includes urban-minded collections along with its more traditional pieces.
