Seven Lamps’ Drew van Leuvan and Grain’s Billy Streck team up for Tavernpointe
The former LPC and La Pietra Cucina space straddling Buckhead and Midtown has turned over yet again. Drew van Leuvan, executive chef and owner of Seven Lamps, and Billy Streck—co-owner of Grain, Cypress Street Pint & Plate, and the upcoming Hampton & Hudson—have taken the reigns to create a neighborhood tavern called Tavernpointe. Restaurateurs Jeff Newsham, Rob Caswick, and Dave Pazienza are also partners in the endeavor.
Arianne Fielder joins Zeb Stevenson at Parish
In mid November, chef Zeb Stevenson let it slip that he was taking over as executive chef at Inman Park's Parish, a title formerly held by Edward Russell. Around the same time, word got out that mixologist Arianne Fielder was leaving Article 14 after only a few months behind the bar. Coincidence? It appears not. Fielder, who worked previously as beverage manager at Drew Van Leuvan’s Seven Lamps, confirmed that she has taken over the newly created head mixologist position at Parish, leaving former Seven Lamps lead bartender Leo de Rivera to make drinks at Article 14.
Seven Lamps
It’s 8 p.m. on a Friday night, and I’m huddled inside the entrance of Seven Lamps, a new restaurant in the northwest corner of Buckhead’s Shops Around Lenox, waiting for a place to sit. The snug, five-sided room incorporates the casual design elements du jour: Reclaimed wood (from a North Georgia mill) cover the floors; old bricks, stacked vertically in varying shades of red and white, make up one wall; porcelain subway tile gleam in the open kitchen.
