Fishmonger hops aboard the sustainable fish boat
Fishmonger will feature several dishes as part of a summer seafood series promoting sustainable, farm-raised fish, a partnership with the Aquaculture Stewardship Council and local fish retailer Kathleen’s Catch. Aquaculture, as it’s formally called, is critical to protecting wild fish species and supplying sustainable seafood for humans—but if you need an extra delicious incentive to come around to farm-raised fish this summer, Fishmonger or Kathleen’s Catch will be more than happy to tempt you.
Dos Burros, from the Fishmonger team, slings tacos and margs on the BeltLine
Fresh off a Michelin nod, the Fishmonger team launches a new restaurant on November 30—one that came to fruition in just three weeks. Dos Burros, or “two donkeys” in Spanish, replaces Lady Ha next to Rina on the BeltLine’s Eastside Trail. It'll serve tacos, burritos, nachos, and ceviche, alongside margaritas and 20-plus beers on tap.

Atlanta restaurants celebrate the briny charms of tinned seafood
Born in Puerto Rico and raised in Southern California, Mel Toledo enjoyed tinned fish regularly for dinner. “My mother would heat up a tin of sardines in tomato sauce and we’d eat it with rice,” says Toledo, who today is a co-owner of Foundation Social Eatery and Petite FSE in Alpharetta—and one of a growing number of chefs in the metro area celebrating the sophisticated joys of preserved seafood in small packages.
