The Most Anticipated Restaurant Openings for 2015

With the opening of Buckhead Atlanta and Alpharetta’s Avalon last year, our city saw an influx of restaurants from other markets (Oak Steakhouse, Thirteen Pies, and Le Bilboquet, to name a few). This year, however, numerous local names will expand further across the city. Here are the fifteen most anticipated restaurants for 2015.

Looking back, the top dining news from 2014

It was the year of the city center. With the opening of Buckhead Atlanta, Inman Park’s Krog Street Market, and Alpharetta’s Avalon, restaurants opened in droves. Local chefs got a nod from the James Beard Foundation, a lime shortage caused momentary panic, and one popular pop-up signed on its first brick-and-mortar location. Read on as we remember when.

With Mex-Tex spot the El Felix now open at Avalon, Ford Fry is moving on to his next projects. Superica, another Mex-Tex restaurant, is slated to open in late January in Krog Street Market, and he’s just announced the name of his first Houston restaurant: State of Grace. Ford Fry signs on as Justin Bieber’s personal chef

In a rather strange turn of events, executive chef and restaurateur Ford Fry—the man behind St. Cecilia, King Duke, the Optimist, No. 246, and JCT Kitchen—has signed on as Justin Bieber’s personal chef for the next three months.

Behold, the opening menu of Ford Fry’s St. Cecilia

In less than a week—January 13 to be precise—Ford Fry's newest venture, St. Cecilia, will open in Buckhead's Pinnacle Building, in the space formerly home to Bluepointe. With a menu that covers the southern European coast, inspired by Genoa, Italy, and the Ligurian coast, St. Cecilia focuses on fresh pastas, roasted fish, and crudo.
