We sat down with star Lee Pace at the show’s Doraville studio to chat about mid-life crises, why his character's trying to "play better with others," and his favorite cookies in Atlanta.

We recently spent a day on the metro Atlanta set of AMC's "Halt and Catch Fire," a Silicon Prairie technology drama set in 1980s Dallas that stars Lee Pace, Scoot McNairy, and Mackenzie Davis. Here's what we learned:

April showers brought us May film shoots as well as their resilient yellow cardboard signs. And while those codes continue to amaze, mystify, and confuse would-be film set gawkers here in the Hollywood of the South, we’ll continue to ease troubled minds. What’s filming in Atlanta now? Michelle Darnell, Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, Table 19, and Survivor’s Remorse

Along with yellow pollen piled along Atlanta's sidewalks, spring has ushered in new thickets of yellow production signs along our roads. This busy month has brought us burned out buses, Texas taxicabs, Chicago newspapers, and scenery from the 1930s and 1980s. Productions are shooting in Midtown, downtown, and a lot of OTP locales.

What’s filming now? Alvin and the Chipmunks 4, Michelle Darnell, Being Mary Jane, plus five TV pilots

I don’t mean to alarm you, but the number of famous people in Atlanta has reached a critical mass. The recent spring thaw means we’ve got productions coming out the wazoo. It’s also television pilot season, and we’ve got five shows filming in north Georgia.

Atlanta seemed star-struck by having Zac Efron and Robert De Niro in town. Personally, I’d like to think the buzz came from the pink Mini Cooper convertible that featured prominently during shooting. As far as productions go, this one wasn’t very secret. Photos inundated social media giving us behind-the-scenes glimpses of the odd couple on set.
