Pizzaiolo Luca Varuni is opening a second location of his acclaimed Morningside pizza spot in Krog Street Market. Located in the back corner of the market near Ticonderoga Club, Varuni Napoli Krog will offer a menu similar to the original, but with smaller, individual-sized pies.
Luca Varuni, founder of Ansley's Varuni-Napoli, is on the hunt for new locations. He says the restaurant, which opened in 2014, is doing well, and he’s considering a variety of concepts both in the neighborhood and around the city.
The pizza-maker who broke off from Antico and started his own restaurant will open Varuni-Napoli on Monroe Drive in Midtown the first week in April. Owner Luca Varuni says the fast-casual restaurant, which awaits its final inspection, will offer pizza and Italian street food made with ingredients imported from Naples.
