Music Midtown: A history

It's been five years since Music Midtown cofounder Peter Conlon, now president of Live Nation Atlanta, revived the festival. Below, a few of the highs and lows of its more than 20-year history.

Music Midtown hits one out of the park

This past weekend Music Midtown returned to the Meadow at Piedmont Park for a monstrous two-day, three-stage, 24-act music festival. Debuting in 1994 as Atlanta's original music fest, Music Midtown paved the way for CounterPoint, TomorrowWorld, Imagine, and Shaky Knees, despite a six-year hiatus ending in 2011.

With the addition of a third stage, Music Midtown’s bigger than ever

After waiting for dry, sunny days all summer, Atlantans they got the perfect one on the eve of Fall, right in time for Friday kickoff of Music Midtown 2013, the two-day music festival held in Piedmont Park.
