Remember back during the GOP debate season when Newt Gingrich would describe Barack Obama as the "food stamp President" as often as possible? Critics accurately described the phrase as a so-called dog whistle designed to appeal to bigoted. A new polls suggests the bigots were listening.

The RealClearPolitics.com poll of polls indicates Newt Gingrich will win big in tomorrow's Georgia primary. He's up by 2o percent over Mitt Romney.

Because the Republican Party targets its outreach to older voters, a lot of the young whippersnappers out there (a.k.a. people born since 1962) like to snob on the GOP for being culturally out-of-step.

While Rick Santorum will never have Newt Gingrich's way with words - I'm sorry, I meant Rick Santorum will literally fundamentally never have Newt Gingrich's transformational way with words - it does look as if Santorum has once again replaced Newt as the GOP's anti-Mitt of the moment.

As polls predicted for nearly a week, Newt Gingrich decisively lost the Florida GOP primary last night to Mitt Romney. Exit polls showed TV ads and debates were a big deal to voters. As anyone who watched the two Florida debates knows, Newt failed to shine in either. As for the battle of the ads, Romney massively outspent Newt in Florida.

I think Newt Gingrich lost Florida during last night's debate and, therefore, his best chance to win the GOP Presidential nomination.

UPDATE 1:55 P.M.: I wasn't the only person who thought Newt was neutered by the silent debate audience. Newt told Fox this morning he will not allow "the media" to silence audiences during future debates. "The media doesn’t control free speech," Newt said. "People ought to be allowed to applaud if they want to."

As anyone who is acquainted with Newt Gingrich's personal life knows, loving him can be dangerous.
