Blackjack and Pink Lotus owners to debut Khao Thai Isan downtown
Niki and Tanya Pattharakositkul are on a roll. It started in 2016 when Niki quietly opened 26 Thai in what was then known as Lindbergh City Center. The sisters teamed up a few years later and grew the brand to nine locations. Recently, they’ve expanded their repertoire to include Insta-worthy spots Pink Lotus and Blackjack Tapas Bar. In April 2026, they will add Khao Thai Isan to their empire. This Thai tapas restaurant is set to debut on the ground floor of the Mitchell apartments in Centennial Yards Downtown.

But there’s a new Nan Thai in town where Chef Nan’s daughter, DeeDee, is walking in her mother’s footsteps with her newest restaurant, Nan Thai Buckhead. The restaurants have similar names, similar menus, and the same core aesthetic: fine dining, Thai style.
Snackboxe Bistro team to open a Cambodian, Thai, and Laotian restaurant called Naga
Serving a mix of Cambodian, Thai, and Laotian dishes, Naga will replace Wild Ginger Thai in Chamblee. When it opens in late September, Naga will feature a menu of approximately 20 to 25 items, including appetizers, small plates, noodles, and rice and curry, all meant to be shared. Owner Thip Athakhanh says she’s most excited about Cambodian dishes made with fermented fish. “They have so much flavor—you get sweet, salty, and savory,” she says.
Chai Yo to become Nan Thai Buckhead
In October, Chai Yo will be transformed into Nan Thai Buckhead, “expanding the reach of what the legacy brand has provided for 20-plus years,” DeeDee Niyomkul explains. Nan Midtown will continue to serve its authentic Thai dishes like lobster pad Thai and Gang Nuea (panang curry slow-braised beef short ribs) with Nan Niyomkul at the helm.

New Thai restaurant promises tiki bar fun on the Westside
A collection of hospitality veterans have banded together to try something new. Ivan Raintung (Mulan), Bell Chabchit (Osha Thai), chef Santi Buaphaeng (Silom Thai), and executive chef Varee "Nam" Somanee (Blue Elephant Thai in Bangkok), along with Erny Liauw and Praim Siribothi, have taken over the former Chin Chin space on Howell Mill Road and turned it into a trendy spot for dining and imbibing.
