For many years, chef Carla Hall resisted being called a soul food cook, but now she's fully embracing her Southern roots. The Nashville-born Top Chef alum, former Chew co-host, and culinary ambassador for the Smithsonian's Sweet Home Café stops by the Atlanta History Center to promote her new cookbook, Carla Hall’s Soul Food: Everyday and Celebration.

Since taking over the baking team at the expanded Bakery at Cakes & Ale, Wolitzky has recieved a glowing nod of approval on Bon Appetit's list of Best New Restaurants for 2012. "Don't even think about skipping dessert at this restaurant and bakery, where the last course gets top billing," the headline glowed. They also included a gorgeous slideshow of his sweets.
Perpetual television personality and Atlanta chef Richard Blais returns to the small screen tomorrow for the latest variation on the Top Chef franchise: Life After Top Chef. The show will chronicle Blais, Fabio Viviani, Spike Mendelsohn, and Jennifer Carroll as they navigate the difficulties of being known by lots of people for making food on television or something along those lines.
