RHOA Recap: Phaedra puts boom in the tomb, ex-con Marlo mingles with the Buckhead elite

The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Episode 409: “Unlikely Duos” recap:It’s the first all-new RHOA of 2012 and, perhaps not coincidentally, Georgians can now purchase alcohol on Sundays. As our weekly incentive to consume copious levels of grain alcohol opens, Phaedra Parks is explaining her funeral home business strategy to her pastor mama, Regina. “I want to have funerals worth dying for!” she explains. “I don’t want to just throw ‘em in the ground, I want to throw ‘em in the ground with a bang.” At deadline, the jury remained out on how that prospective slogan might play on a church fan.

For Better or Worse actress Tasha Smith reflects on bringing her larger than life role to TV

“The woman is stalking me!” laughs Tasha Smith on reprising her role of Atlanta beauty salon owner Angela Williams in Tyler Perry’s latest TBS sitcom, “For Better or Worse.” The sitcom’s first season concludes tonight with a pair of episodes airing on TBS starting at 10 p.m. With his latest show, Perry departs from his usual laugh track-laden, family-oriented fare to target older viewers with some serious relationship challenges stirred into the laughs.

RHOA Recap: Phaedra quits Sheree, Cyn spells class F-E-L-O-N-Y

The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Episode 408: “New Tricks” recap:As this super-sized 75-minute televised sign of the apocalypse opens, Sheree Whitfield is visiting her attorney Phaedra Parks to complain about the less than stellar outcome at her child support hearing with ex-hubby Bob Whitfield.

RHOA bonus recap: NeNe watches Cyn shop at Eclectic Girl, Kandi self-pleasures at Tap

The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Episode 407: “Law by Sheree” recap:As this week’s bonus episode of the television equivalent of a Georgia 400 16-car pile up opens, viewers learn details about about Sheree Whitfield’s sketchy ex Bob Whitfield’s surprise legal maneuver in Sunday’s episode. He’s filed a petition to modify his child support agreement, claiming his income dropped from $20,000 a month to $3,000. Or as Sheree shrieks at her attorney Phaedra Parks, “He wants to modify a child support agreement he’s never made!” Sheree fears Bob’s celebrity status as a former Atlanta Falcon will hamper her efforts in court. Phaedra assures her she’ll get her money.

RHOA Recap: Kim passes a Mack truck, Sheree sues and gets sued!

The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Episode 406: “Three Wigs and a Baby” recap:As this week’s smorgasbord of intellectual malnutrition opens, Kim Zolciak is clutching her wig, downing a cream cheese adorned bagel and heading out the door to give birth. She preps her Atlanta Falcon baby daddy Kroy Biermann appropriately: “Whatever I do or say today, don’t hold it against me.” With a previous pregnancy, her epidural didn’t take. Or as Kim more thoughtfully phrases it: “It was nine pounds au naturel. It was like a Mack truck driving through your whoo ha.”

RHOA Recap: Phaedra serves Bob Whitfield a bologna sandwich (on white bread!), Bar One opens

The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Episode 405: “Whine Bar” recap:As this week’s exercise in liver sadomasochism opens, we learn Phaedra Parks owns a cut glass cake plate and dome. With her initials painted on it. She’s baked Kandi Burruss a cake and delivered it to her Tags Boutique after last week’s Ridickulous surprise stripper-gram resulted in multiple accidental blindings on the rooftop of the Renaissance hotel. Apparently, Phaedra believes a conciliatory cake can make up for an adult entertainer interpreting the word “cocktail” a touch too literally. However, the most horrifying element of this sequence has nothing to do with Phaedra or Kandi. It’s the Bravo advertisement for some atrocity titled Kim Zolciak’s Due Date scheduled to hurl onto the airwaves next Sunday at 9 p.m.

Rumors of death greatly exaggerated, Robert Osborne discusses his TCM return

When you take an unexpected five-month powder from the airwaves after beaming into the nation’s living rooms every night for 17 years, some interesting theories crop up about the state of your health. Just ask beloved Turner Classic Movies host and Academy Awards historian Robert Osborne, who exited his famous Atlanta-based TV bachelor pad July 11 for what the network described as “minor surgery followed by a vacation.” As an early holiday gift to viewers in full-on Robert withdrawal, the 79-year-old returns to the airwaves and his primetime hosting job Thursday at 8 p.m.

RHOA recap: Lawrence gets mugged by Tina Turner & Madonna, Phaedra’s super-sized gift leaves a bad taste

The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Episode 404: “Jewels Be Dangled” recap:As this week’s episode of locally produced migraine-triggering reality television opens, Kim Zolciak is receiving a mea culpa visit from Phaedra Parks. Last week, the Atlanta attorney’s husband Apollo got into an intense verbal altercation with Cynthia Bailey’s hubby Peter at Kim and her boy toy baby daddy Kroy Biermann’s baby shower. A lavish apology gift basket is delivered. As is frequently the case with RHOA, there’s a teachable moment for viewers. Kim’s social etiquette tip? “Note to self. Keep the ex-cons and the [expletive] off the guest list next time.”

RHOA recap: Behold the inception of Chateau Sheree, house hubbys Apollo and Peter throw down

The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Episode 403: “Shower the Baby, Muzzle the Boy” recap:As our weekly odyssey into self-inflicted alcohol poisoning opens, viewers are treated to a visual of Sheree Whitfield’s toilet. And so are her new neighbors! Alas, this is not a fancy metaphor for the state of programming on Bravo. The ex-wife of NFL star Bob Whitfield has purchased property in “one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Atlanta” and is having vintage colonial two-story on the lot ripped down so she can erect Chateau Sheree, a lovely McMansion on the site, complete with a large stylish “S” dangling over the front door. With the outer wall now missing, Sheree’s throne is now on public display. Judging from the lush tree cover on the rural lot, “one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Atlanta” is located in Ellijay. It doesn’t help that Sheree has worn four-inch heels to the demolition site. Advises Andrew the contractor: “The next time you come to my job site, wear tennis shoes.” Sheree is quick to correct the contractor: “This is my job site. You wear heels the next time!”

Tyler Perry defends casting Kim Kardashian in The Marriage Counselor

As the world slept overnight, Atlanta director and studio mogul Tyler Perry placed his fingers on the home row keys to address one of the greatest maladies currently plaguing the Earth: Kim Kardashian. In an email to fans, Perry has at last responded to the outrage over his casting of the 72-day bride/E! reality show fame whore who is currently divorcing NBA forward Kris Humphries after an exhausting 10-week marriage. All month Perry's fans have taken to his Facebook and Twitter accounts to express their displeasure after he announced the casting of the rich white lady who assists the global economy by purchasing $10,000 designer shoes on camera in his new ironically titled comedy "The Marriage Counselor."
